Web3 game platform Unioverse names Eric Peterson as CCO

Unioverse, a leading Web3 game platform, has named Eric Peterson, co-founder of Star Citizen, as its new Chief Creative Officer, according to the latest information shared with Finbold on July 18.

The move is expected to help Unioverse bring Web3 gaming to the mainstream and attract a broader audience of video game players.

Eric Peterson joins Unioverse

Eric Peterson joins Random Games, the developer behind Unioverse, to steer creative direction and game development initiatives.

So far, Peterson has collaborated with Chris Roberts on the iconic Wing Commander franchise at Origin Systems, co-founding Digital Anvil, and producing titles such as StarLancer and Conquest: Frontier Wars.

Peterson also acted as Founder and President of Production at Fever Pitch Studios while contributing to Star Citizen alongside Chris Roberts.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new position, Peterson remarked:

“I am very excited to be joining Random Games and Unioverse and to be devoting my creative energies to developing great games in the rich Unioverse environment. We’re focused on addressing gamer frustrations by supporting actions that other companies punish, such as trading high-level characters or weapons. This is solved with our marketplace of game items, allowing players to trade items freely and derive more value from the games they love.”

Peterson’s role at Unioverse

In his new capacity, Peterson will initially concentrate on finding external partners for Unioverse’s Metaverse.

Moreover, he will ensure the games released under Random Games meet the highest quality standards, solidifying Unioverse as a premier Web3 gaming platform and enticing traditional gamers to explore its portfolio.

Peterson will likewise collaborate with CTO Wyeth Ridgway, Head of Brand Bryan Clark, and CEO Tony Harman to ensure Unioverse can achieve its goals of making Web3 games accessible to all gamers, requiring no prior knowledge of Web3 or cryptocurrency.
